Strange album to reissue and as you said Luke if you have the singles then this release is redundant.

The only track previously not available on CD is the Alternate version of "Skyscraping" from the 10" single.

When they reissued the older albums with extra tracks in 2005, I wonder why "Abracadabra" was the only one not released on CD. I keep hoping for a double CD sometime!

Because it was on EMi, maybe copyright issues got in the way. That 2005 expanded mp3 edition was great but wasn't remastered although several sites said it was. The recent Northworld cd reissue is great in terms of sound quality but adds only mixes of Say It and Love Conquers All as bonus tracks.

I was bummed that Abracadabra wasn't reissued on cd as well - one of my favorite ABC albums. [:(]

Actually, "Skyscraping" is my favorite ABC album. But as the budget is tight, and I have the CD singles as well as the "Skyscraping" 10" single, I'll probably sit this one out. Previously unreleased material would have triggered a purchase event, though!

How is the sound quality? Loud remastering or similar to the original release? Thinking of buying now as it seems to be getting more expensive.

Sounds the same as the original cd to me. I have the 2cd expanded version. Wasn't too thrilled.

The expanded release was only targeted for people who missed the 1997 releases (album and CD singles).
Sound is the same as the original CD's. People who like to hear the expanded release can pm me.

Got it today. CD-R but I knew that anyway after reading discogs.

I’m fine with it just being the existing master expanded. They did the same for TFFs Raoul & The Kings of Spain, another Sony release.

Shame it didn't include the radio edits of Stranger Things and Skyscraping.
