No surprise there. Most of the folks posting reviews on Amazon don't know what proper mastering even is.

I don't think that's a fair statement. Amazon reviewers represent average listeners who can usually tell if something sounds good, at least to their ears. We've seen plenty of Amazon complaints when the audio is glaringly bad. So if the audio sounds reasonable, I don't think they care if it was what a pro might consider "proper mastering."

Plus these cds probably do sound good on crappy cell phone, laptop or I-pad speakers, which is all a lot of folks listen to their music out of these days.

MP3's, sure. But CD's? How/why would one connect a CD player to a crappy cell phone or iPad in order to listen to it?

Is it true the track listing is different and the interviews are missing on this? That's what reviews on Amazon say.

The reviews on Amazon are all mixed up with the original Island release typical Amazon. The culture factory remaster has the true track listing and the interviews are included.

I have the Culture Factory cd of STTR. It's excellent sound wise despite the label's reputation of having harsh sounding cds. It's definitely worth getting.
