all 3 of these songs don't sound like the duran i like.

they are being more experimental like arcadia.

and i hated the arcadia single - election day, and was going to give up on the group.

luckily i heard some other songs which were much better, and the later singles also.
the album wasn't that great though.

hoping the duran album has better songs also.

I'm surprised to see the negative reaction to these new tracks. I like them all. Particularly the title track Paper Gods. Pressure Off is my least favorite of the three. Of course, I LOVE the Arcadia album, and I also really love Medazzaland, which is sort of an updated So Red The Rose. If this is an updated Medazzaland, I'll be very happy. I liked All You Need Is Now, but Astronaut and in particular Red Carpet Massacre are my least favorite Duran albums (I'd rather listen to Liberty any day) I hope this album sounds more like Paper Gods than Pressure Off. I'm still excited for it.

Severely disappointed . Luckily I was able to get a promo cd . Aside from You Kill Me Silence & Northern Lights it's a pretty much missed opportunity . Having too many producers and trying sound thoroughly pop they've alienated much of their older fanbase by trying to capture the Katy Perry etc crowd. Oh well.

I thought they were planning a "Night Version" or two for Pressure Off. No news yet though .

checking out the bonus tracks.

there are 3 on the deluxe, and 2 more in the US from a Target deluxe version.

some are better than the album tracks.

there are some japanese ones coming also, but they might be vinyl only.

I LOVE the title track but agree most of the rest of the album didn't hit me the first time. One interview I read said that All You Need Is Now was their "throwback" album (yeah!) while Paper Gods is their "modern" album (booooooooo). Just saw them in concert a few days ago - hearing some of the new stuff live helped a little, except for the dreadful "Danceophobia".

While I've got you here I need to rant about that concert. It's pretty bad when you can imagine a great concert of songs they DIDN'T play (Save A Prayer, Careless Memories, The Chaueffer, Hold Back The Rain, Wild Boys, I Don't Want Your Love, New Moon On Monday, Is There Something?, many others) and yet they DID play that DD classic "White Lines". Seriously? You only play 17 songs from your vast catalogue and it includes a pointless cover version? WTFuck?!?

Super Deluxe Boxed Vinyl Set:

£300 box set offers coloured vinyl and unheard studio track

Over a year after the album proper hit the shops, Duran Duran have announced a Vinyl Factory deluxe box set version of their 14th studio album Paper Gods.

The box boasts four white vinyl records in bespoke sleeves, four art prints, 17 ‘kiss cut’ magnets (which can be stuck to the magnetised clamshell box), a 36-page booklet and a numbered certificate signed by Duran Duran and designer and LA artist Alex Israel.

As well as the 12-tracks from the album, this set includes all the five bonus tracks issue last year (including Target exclusive Cinderella Ride) and a previously unreleased track As Seen From A Distance. Additionally, one of the vinyl records includes two exclusive ‘Night Versions’ of Pressure Off. It is not known if this set comes with a download code, but since it isn’t specifically mentioned, then we have to assume not.

This set is limited to 350 copies worldwide and can be pre-ordered for a 28 November release date from Vinyl Factory’s website.
