China Crisis has a new recording out, first one since 1994 and no one here is talking about it?

I got in back when it came out. It didn't really blow me away. Wasn't bad, wasn't great either. Nothing like Wishful Thinking, Christian, etc.

Could not agree more. Very well said.

The comments are not harsh . We all love CC and I think the new album is a pleasant enough return, definitely influenced by the bands recent stripped down acoustic live shows .

We're all here to express our opinions on music, whether good or bad. As for being a charismatic individual i think all of us have that hidden side, don't you think?

I think the issue with China Crisis is people can be quite divided by their output in respect of fans of the more electronic side ( first two albums) and then their sort of transitional album Flaunt the imperfection ( which I think is great) where they started leaning towards the more acoustic sound . What price Paradise sort of went back to some more electronic sounds but then Diary Of a hollow horse went more acoustic

I sometimes compare them to the transition that talk talk had , first two albums very electronic and then colours of spring being their transitional album . I did struggle with the last two but they gained quite a different audience and some people think the last two albums are "classics" In the chilled out acoustic style

I think CC's latest album is leaning more on the latter side of their career as Omar quite rightly pointed out but there are a couple of tracks on there that do try and combine elements of their early stuff

I really liked it and I am a fan of all their eras ,

So I would recommend it but if your heart is with the more early electronic sound you might be slightly disappointed

I have to say I think this is a brilliant album, well crafted songs with beautiful melodies, best tracks, "Bernard" (Best track on the album), "Being In Love", "Fool", "Autumn In The Beighbourhood" and "Smile (What Kind Of Love Is This)".

If you have liked their earlier albums this is definitely worth getting, if you can! I hope they are going to make it a general release, it deserves to be.
