Some of you may be interested in this , some 80's bands doing some fairly decent cover versions ( some not so good) , but includes bands such as china crisis, black , ABC , Heaven 17 all doing cover versions , blacks version of wicked games sounds particularly good

got this yesterday and fully recommend it . just playing CD2 now with the 12" versions

What it is good is that the producers have worked with the bands to introduce elements of the bands signature sounds from the time

e.g. Black wicked game uses saxophone and clarinet sound that was prominent in Blacks sweetest smile so it sound like it could of come off that album

ABC high and dry uses some of the similar sounds that were on be near me and sounds like it could of come off the how to be a zillionaire album

China crisis seem to use some old equipment ( drums at the beginning) and some of the guitar playing sounds like Christian

Even Sam fox ( which I really dislike) has done a half decent version of bad girls and they have used the same type of PWL sound that was used for dead or alive and some of their other PWL singles

Anyway really good and really pleased with it

the only mix that is really good is the abc track, and possibly
the wang chung one..

all the rest are barely different, and not that much longer.

they really didn't need to do the extended mixes....

since it was a cheap $5, it was an ok purchase for fans of those groups.

I absolutely love love love this 2 disc set. Our New Wave/80's heroes doing oldies covers. What's so cool is each artist sounds so on top of their game and these oldies sound like 80's songs. Heheh, I know I know, 80's is considered oldies now too.
I am a camera!!!
