NEW BLANCMANGE ALBUM AND TOUR



We’re excited to announce a new Blancmange ALBUM and TOUR in March 2016.

The new Blancmange album, 'Commuter 23' will be released by Blanc Check Records on Friday 11 March, 2016.

The album is a forward-looking mixture of songs and more experimental electronic instrumentals. Tracks include ‘Jack Knife’, ‘Red Shift (Blame Thrower)’ and ‘Last Night (I Dreamt I Had A Job)’.

Excellent news! I loved their Semi-Detached album, which I thought was their best since Happy Families, and the Nil By Mouth one was a solid follow-up. Very excited to see a new one coming already.

I second that! The more music Neil (and his collaborators) will put out the better. Especially seeing that their instrumental stuff is so good.

i like the dancier, more upbeat tracks.

there were a few on 'blancburn', and few on semi-detached.

not so fond of the instrumentals. but to each their own.

i'm sure there will be a few interesting tracks there.

Just played my copy of Commuter 23 and I don't like it all. It is all very downbeat and far too many instrumentals for my taste. A massive disappointment from me.

this is not a 'typical' blancmange album.


they are definitely in a 'ambient' instrumental phase, especially with the last 2 albums.

there's no upbeat, pop tracks on it.

that said, its a quieter, more reflective album.

people that like that sound, will like this album.


it's not a great album, but its not bad either.

Really enjoyed the album-- agree it is more ambient and "deep" . I like that style so for me it was great. It has that german experimental feel to it too like the Bureau B releases.
Melded well Recommended. Gonna go back and give Nil By Mouth another go.

I really liked this single! Much better than anything on Commuter 23 in my opinion.

i like the 'ideal home' a lot better than the album tracks also.

the 'overwhelmed' song is just average though.
