ABC " The Lexicon Of Love 2"

Saw this on ABC's facebook page. Due for release in May, The Lexicon Of Love 2 is the new studio album and sequel to the 1982 classic. Lead single Viva Love (wasn't that from the 90's) will be the lead single. Also former Living In A Box member Marcus Vere helped write some songs. No track listing yet. Any info otherwise would be much appreciated.

Viva Love (Brother In Rhythm Edit) is on The Ultimate Collection from 2004 and looking at the credits it says from the the Viva Love CD single from 1991 which doesn't exist I wonder if it's going to be the same song.

I love ABC in all their forms but this is just desperate to attract attention. Good luck to Martin if it works, I loved Skyscraping and Traffic but they were all but ignored by the public. Now if it had been produced by Trevor Horn I could understand it...

Again according to Facebook, Anne Dudley who worked on The Lexicon Of Love is featured on the new album as well.

Viva Love was a planned, but ultimately cancelled single on Parlophone circa 1991/2. It first appeared in 2005, as a radio edit of a longer Brothers In Rhythm mix when it was appended to the bonus content of the Abracadabra re-issue;

Snakebite and Kiss Me Goodbye are from the same sessions, I think. I would imagine it's the same song, now re-worked and re-recorded for this new album.

The original Viva Love had a very early 90s house/dance beat to it. Wonder how the new version will sound?

Well, we've only heard a Brothers In Rhythm remix of it, so the original song may well be more "classic ABC".

but it is private. the link is in the abc, yahoogroups.

it sounds similar to the original.

No, I think it's just Martin Fry. I think Mark's no longer in the music scene. Strangely enough there's no more mention of this on Facebook. No preorder links or track listings. Wondering if it's been pushed back. Personally I think it's daft to call the album The Lexicon Of Love 2.
