KORGIS - Complete 1979-82 (2-CD)

KORGIS - Complete 1979-82 (2-CD)

Postby discoginfo » Sat Apr 30, 2016 11:23 am

A new compilation 2-CD is out 24 June 2016. I quote:
"This double-CD package boasts all of the band's recordings for Rialto, including three whole albums: The Korgis (1979), Dumb Waiters (1980) and Sticky George (1981), as well as all of the band's period A and B sides. Wish You A Merry Christmas' makes its debut on CD."

I'm pretty sure SOMETHING will be left out though!! But it's good news nevertheless.

This release is a carbon copy of an older 2-CD compilation that I have:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dont-Look-Back ... 85&sr=1-14

With the exception of the last track on CD 2: Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime (DNA Mix) is replaced with Wish You A Merry Christmas.

However, I wasn't that fond with the sound quality of the Sanctuary compilation though. Hopefully Cherry Red will do a better job with it.

#Update: According to the Cherry Red site, The DNA remix of Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime will be added as the 18th track on CD 2, so that the extra track will be that Christmas song.

There are more tracks/versions they should include..... Cold Tea (B-side version), Don't Say That It's Over (Single Remix), Christmas in Japan... to name some.

I thought they had more songs post 1982. What about James Warren's Burning Questions? Wasn't that released as the Korgis in some areas?

Check out my discographies

One or so "Burning Questions" single was released as Korgis, but not by Rialto.

And now...... the bad news. The ONE track I was going to purchase this CD set for, the B-side Wish You a Merry Christmas, is NOT included. By mistake they put the "Christmas in Japan" there instead.

See review here:

Hmmm when was the last time a record company put out an error-free reissue CD?
