As if the world needed another Visage compilation, but this one does cover the 21st century version of the band too. No track details yet but it is out on December 9th.

I suppose it's too much to hope for some rare or unreleased stuff? And I'm still dreaming of a decent remaster of the debut album.

Strange that the singles "Beat Boy" and "Shameless Fashion" are not included despite there being only 14 tracks on the album, somewhat bizarre that instead they have include "Aurora! and "The Silence" neither of which were singles, at least I don't think they were. They could have also included the Japan only single "Whispers".

There is supposed to be a CDX version coming out as well which i can only assume will be a deluxe edition hopefully with 12 inch mixes. I was reading about this on their facebook page and that rusty egan was coming on and saying that this release was rubbish and that everything recorded after 1985 is fake Visage he has some serious issues if he is resorting to this

That's a shame about Rusty, but I think the the vast majority of people Visage was Steve Strange.
The musicians all had great post-punk pedigrees but Steve was the only one who appeared in the videos, he was the only one featured on record covers…I think there are only a handful of photos of the whole 80s version of the band together.

I saw the Facebook post about the deluxe and I’m cautiously optimistic about that. Putting out a single CD best of is utterly pointless, there are so many budget ones out there already I can’t see a casual punter being interested in this. Even if it does have songs by the 21st century band, a lot of people possibly aren’t aware of them and may be more inclined to buy a cheaper best of where they recognise the majority of the tracks. Even a simple chronological singles collection (with choice b-sides like the original Frequency 7, We Move etc) using the correct 7” mixes (hello Night Train!) would be preferable. And a deluxe with the original 12” mixes on a bonus disc or two would be even better.

Just curious, what 12" or extended version has not been released on cd? I saw someone ask for an extended version of "In The Year 2525". Is there one? I wish they would release a documentary dvd or a tv performance dvd.

this is a real shame as last year a certain record company were looking to do the following and I imagine they did not get the licencing deal as this would have been great , look at the suggested tracklisting . lets hope the deluxe has some of these especially the Anvil Dance mix

this does look like its going in the right direction , fingers crossed they concentrate on the older material for extended versions etc

Hopefully this is more appealing, the main best of is pretty poor.

details available , I will just get the extended versions they have missed out night train but at least the anvil is there. I think they should have done a 2 cd versions with some of the more obscure remixes/extended

I'll probably regret it but I went for the 7-CD box set with all the instrumentals because, well, it's Visage, and I need no other reason than that!
