Los Angeles New Wave band Animotion best known for "Obsession", one of the best and most iconic hits of the 1980s, are releasing their first (fourth overall) studio album in 28 years on January 20th 2017.
"Raise Your Expectations" recorded by both original frontpeople, Bill Wadhams and Astrid Plane, is previewed by the first single "Last Time".
Their last studio offer, "Animotion (Room To Move)", came out in 1989.

It's great to see these 80's band still making music, but most of these bands "modern sounding" releases remind me of the sterile hybrid synthpoop of the 90's.

Hi Telekon3 - having been involved with this Animotion release since 2013 onwards (yes it's taken nearly 4 years to come together!) I can say it's a genuinely excellent album, regardless of who it's by. The songwriting and performances are superb, and there are a huge variety of styles which still sound like Animotion's DNA. Cream of the crop are 'Bad Review', the lead track 'Last Time', 'They Can't Touch You' and also 'Everything' which is a big ballad along the lines of 'Ordinary World' by Duran Duran.

I have read mixed reviews on this album - some love it, some hate it. Personally I think it is fantastic, I love that they kept some of that 80's vibe in there but added a modern twist. It's certainly an album I enjoy.
