This little blurb appears in the February issue of Mojo:

"Rough Trade will re-release Scritti Politti's Cupid & Psyche '85, Provision, and Anomie & Bonhomie on vinyl, the latter for the first time. Expanded versions will follow..."

That will probably be the best reissue-news of 2018 for me. One can only imagine what these CD expanded editions will look like. I know exactly what kind of tracklists I want for them.

Not holding my breath on the expanded CD versions. I have a gut feeling that if it happens, there will be lots of omissions.

What would we want on "Cupid + Psyche '85?"

Wood Beez UK 7" 3:34
Wood Beez [version] UK 7" 4:43
Wood Beez [version] UK 12" 5:54
Absolute UK 7" 3:52
Absolute [version] 7" 5:08
Absolute [version] 12" 6:11
Hypnotize [long] UK 12" 4:23
Hypnotize [version] UK 12" 6:32
The Word Girl UK 7" 3:17
Flesh + Blood UK 7"/12" 5:34
The Word Girl/Flesh + Blood [version] UK 12" 5:04
Scritti Politti Turntable Mix UK 12" 6:30
Lover To Fall French 7" remix 3:50
Perfect Way UK 7"A 3:58 [Potoker mix]
Perfect Way [version] UK 7"B 4:59 [Kevorkian mix]
Perfect Way US 7"A 4:31 [Potoker mix]
Perfect Way [Way Perfect Version Edit] US 7"B 5:04 [Kevorkian/Abbey mix]
Perfect Way [extended mix] UK 12"A 4:27 [Kevorkian mix]
Perfect Way [version - extended mix] UK 12"B 4:59 [Kevorkian mix]
Perfect Way [way perfect mix] US 12"A 5:26 [Kevorkian/Abbey/Meyers mix]
Perfect Way [way perfect version] US 12"B 5:01 [Peck mix]
Perfect Way [way perfect mix] US Promo 12"A 7:27 [Kevorkian/Abbey/Meyers mix]

It might fit on a 2xCD configuration, if you didn't get too precious about it. 3xCD to keep the original album as a discreet disc.

And what would we want for "Provision"?:

Besides the remastered album, the following bonus tracks:

-World Come Back to Life (B-Side from single First Boy In This Town (Lovesick)) (3:51min.)

-Oh Patti! (Don't Feel Sorry For Loverboy) (U.S. Single Mix - Mike Shipley Edit) (4:00min.)
-Oh Patti! (Don't Feel Sorry For Loverboy) (Extended) (6:31min.)
-Oh Patti! (Don't Feel Sorry For Loverboy) (Instrumental aka Drumless Mix) (4:21min.)

-Boom! There She Was (U.S. Single Mix - John Potoker Edit) (4:18min.)
-Boom! There She Was (Extended Single Version - John Potoker) (5:00min.)
-Boom! There She Was (Sonic Property Mix - John Potoker)
The WHOLE version (8:55min.) instead of the 6:55 edit that was released on CD-single before
-Boom! There She Was (Dub) (7:13min.)

-First Boy In This Town (Lovesick) (Extended Remix) (6:54min.)
-First Boy In This Town (Lovesick) (Instrumental) (4:21min.)

This will not fit into 1 CD, so a 2-CD expanded edition will be necessary.

I'm hoping Green Gartside will be involved in these and will at least write an essay or two. 2 cd versions would be perfect. My main focus would be on Cupid.. and Provision. What about Songs To Remember from 1981/82? Wasn't that reissued some time ago, any good?

Remastered in 2001 for CD. Must be pretty easy to find. I have a copy myself and it sounds wonderful.

I think they should also include Songs To Remember again on their reissue campaign. The 2001 release didn't have any bonus tracks like b sides and edits. A few of them though ended up on the Early compilation from 2004 i believe.

As long as it's not horribly compressed like the compilation Absolute.

Strange Rough Trade are only doing the Virgin albums when you consider Songs To Remember was released on Rough Trade in the first place. I agree about the sound on that Absolute compilation it was horrendous and hopefully these will sound a million times better which wouldn't be difficult. Now let's get those plastic coasters out of the way and get some proper CD reissues.

There's not much to include as bonus tracks from that period (1981/82). Maybe Faithless Part II and the shorter version of Jacques Derrida. The other thing I can think of is the single The Sweetest Girl/Lions After Slumber because these versions are different than the album versions (different drum computer and vocals). But this single is already included on Early (2004).

Don't expect Green to be involved. He hates giving himself praise (It's a Welsh thing) and will not positively about those albums.
At least he now performs the songs live.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9FrJVPhR0o

Exactly where is a 2001 remaster? Never seen or heard that or see that on Discogs.

I hope some extended or shortened piece of crap isn't omitted.

those match up
========================================
UK vinyl LP version = 4.30

US Promo 7" = 4.02
US 7" A side = 4.02

UK 7" A side = 3.58
UK 7" B side version = 4.59
US 7" A Side = 4.31
US 7" B Side = 5:04

UK 12" A side = 4.27
UK 12" B side = 4.59
US 12" A side = 5.25
US 12" B side = 5.01
US 12" promo A side = 7.27

missing:
====================
Japanese vinyl LP version = 4.40 (remixed version of UK LP mix)

US 7" B side = 4.27 - maybe the same as 12 inch mix?

US 12" promo B side = 4.02 - maybe the same as the other versions?

Note that although the UK 12" B side version is listed as "extended", it is the same length as the UK 7" B side version.
