For no real reason I came up with tracklists for double CD reissues of the King albums. Anything missing? I read somewhere there is a 7" remix of Won't you?

Of course I haven't checked the durations so there might be a bit of shuffling required to fit these onto the required discs.

In addition to this we can also have digital downloads of the two BBC In Concert recordings.

Looks pretty complete to me. I think the only mixes that have yet to appear on cd are the club mixes of Alone Without You and Won’t You Hold... (85 Reasons/Magnificent mixes). Also there is a 7” mix of Won’t You Hold My Hand Now that appeared on the 1998 Love & Pride... Best Of compilation.

Complete list. Can't think of anything you're missing. Paul King did do vocals on the 2014 release by Reset! for the song House of Love. It's available on iTunes and Spotify. There's an album version and Radio edit version.

My complete list would be nothing whatsoever. This trashy garbage should be erased from history. Is there a less cooler band? Nope.

Journey, Styx, Genesis (after Phil Collins took over) and Chicago (after Peter Cetera took over) were certainly less cool.

Each to their own. To me they are as good as the Associates and certainly better than say Dead or Alive. Love & Pride & Alone Without You are classics.

Laugh of the day for "as good as the Associates". This forum becomes increasingly a joke.

Yeah they had ONE good song, Love & Pride, where that hairy dude sprayed his boots or whatever. ONE good song.

And Journey and Styx have some awesome songs even though I have no idea why anyone would mention them here. For that matter, King is saccharine pop not NW. Cheers!

P.S. I just rewatched the L&P video for the first time in decades and noticed King employed a bunch of 10-year old "dancers". How appropriate. That's their target.

"One good song" because it's clearly the only one you've heard. Their album Bitter Sweet is one of my favorites. King wrote quirky lyrics and catchy tunes, and should have lasted more than two albums. But if you like ANYTHING by Journey then you have absolutely no room to speak ill of anything mentioned on this board.

I think King were one of the best 80s bands considering they only had two albums to their name. Both Steps In Time & Bittersweet are new wave classics. All their 12" singles are superb. Surprised that with all these 80s revivals they've not considered a reunion of sorts. Even a Paul King solo tour would be a warm welcome.

This forum is a joke because some of us like King? Dude...relax. If that is a problem and if the forum is now a joke why are you still here?

This forum is the home to fans of many bands that are considered new wave yet crossover to other genres. Ska, reggae, synth-pop, electronic, europop, punk, post-punk, new romantic, rock, glam rock, progressive rock, etc.

No two persons have the exact same taste in music, bands and songs. My music likes run the gamut from Beach Boys to Beatles to Bananarama to Big Audio Dynamite to Beck. But to sit here and take the time to type up disparaging remarks is counterproductive and does absolutely nothing other than make you look like an unhinged fool. Again, we all have likes and dislikes. Respect each other. And try to make the forum better.

Yeah I don't understand why Barmy hates King as otherwise we have very similar tastes in music (Japanese Technopop,Sylvian etc).
King are certainly New Wave. Yes they are also pop but so are say Scritti Politti

King got me into New Wave back in the 90s when I was a teenager. I heard Love & Pride on the radio. The 1994 Reissue of Steps in Time was way too much for me so I ended up buying their hits a few later and became hooked.
Unity Song and I Kissed The Spikey Fridge are brilliant.

I also recently listened to Paul King's solo album and I quite like it now.

It's funny. I didn't care for Love and Pride but bought Steps in Time after hearing Fish. Loved Spikey Fridge and Unity Song. Then I bought and loved Bittersweet. Joy was a disappointment for me. I blamed it on his losing his mullet.

Everyone has different tastes....whether other people despise the artist or not everyone is entitled to their tastes. I get you may have a poor opinion of this King artist (I personally don't know this group), and of course youre entitled to that, but I don't think it's fair to insult the ones who like them.

Odd. Just listened to my CD of Bitter Sweet CDCBS 86320 and although the back cover says it has the Breaker Heart mix, it actually plays the standard LP version.
