Postby negative1 » Mon Mar 19, 2018 12:12 pm

This is a deluxe release of the 'secrets' album they put out.

The 2nd disc has almost all of the remixes, including the promo ones (that are hard to find on it).

Next month, Edsel will reissue the Human League‘s eighth studio album, Secrets, as a two-CD deluxe edition.

The 2001 album followed 1995’s Octopus, which had delivered the UK top ten hit Tell Me When, but alas, similar success didn’t follow with Secrets, as lead single All I Every Wanted stalled at number 47 in the UK charts and record label Papillon went bust, denying the record proper promotion and any real chance of success.

Quite glad now that I waited to buy this album. Rounds up all the singles quite nicely and here's hoping it has decent mastering.

The original album sounded fine as is. There's no need to remaster it.

Would’ve preferred a 2cd version of Octopus.

who knows, maybe they'll have deluxe versions of all their albums.
but there were too many mixes from that album to fit on 2cd's.

they would have to cut out some of the tracks.

I updated my discography as much as possible:

http://www.discog.info/human-league.html

I was not aware of the UK promo CD with two extra remixes until now!
https://www.discogs.com/Human-League-Secrets/release/11102199

So, it seems Love Me Madly? (Toy Mix) 4.15 is not included on this 2-CD!

Nice! That was a good League album but I don't know if I need all of those mixesStill, I'm glad to see they aren't sweeping it under the carpet. That one had the misfortune of being released just as the label went under. I second the notion of an "Octopus" DLX RM. That was my favorite post-"Dare" album.

"Secrets" is one of the League's best in my opinion. I played it constantly when I first got it and often thereafter. Some great tunes and the production of Toy made for a great sonic ride. Nice to see the "Love Me Madly" mixes get more exposure here. They are actually quite good. The hard to find "You'll Be Sorry" mixes and the few AIEW mixes I don't already have will probably suck me in to make the purchase. As for mastering, I agree the sound itself only needs to be left as is.

If you don't need the mixes, you can just buy the regular album.

As someone else has pointed out,

this mix from the CD single : Love Me Madly? (Zenn Eternal Countdown Edit) 3:44
is an edit, and will probably be missing also.

the full version is from vinyl: Love Me Madly? (Zenn Eternal Countdown Mix) 5:23

True, well spotted. I would, however, rather have the TOY mix, because TOY produced the album as such.
Not sure how to get hold of that mix though.

Oh I agree completely. Personally I hope they DON'T remaster it, but if they have I'm praying it's decent.
