Yeah me too, would've preferred live tracks. Seems like they had to fill up 3 cds, so they choose the 2018 acoustic versions. A 2CD version with remixes and b sides would've been fine.

I will say this a very good price for a triple CD when you take into account what Tom Bailey and Nick Heyward as two examples were asking for theirs. I have the 2008 remastered version which inexplicably omitted the I Don't Want To Be A Hero (12" Extended Mix) which they could just have fitted on that. Turn Back The Clock (Unreleased Version) looks like it's missing from this new reissue.

I was really excited when I first saw this thread, but that second disc is of no interest to me. Had it been a DVD with videos, I would have pledged money instantly.

That was the original demo so I reckon it's on disc 3.

The acoustic versions are somewhat pointless for me...

If that's a demo it's a damn good one... I love that one above the original so much.

Therefore I keep my 2008 reissue, just to be sure.

Went on Facebook and confirmed with Clark. The demo version of TBTC is completely different. The 2008 unreleased version is just an alternate mix of the standard.

Yes.....disc 2 looks pointless - those demos look interesting.

I hate the trend of "acoustic versions" of an album. More unreleased stuff would have been a better option, as well as including the 7" mix of Don't Say It's Love (I'm presuming that CD1 will feature the original album version) and the RAK 7"/12" versions of Me And My Foolish Heart (possibly licensing issues with the latter, but it would have been a nice touch).

However, I do understand that the Heart Of Gold B side "Leave It Up To Me" will be on this reissue.

Out of interest, does anyone know if "Living In The Past" on the B side of that RAK release is a different version to what was released as the B side to "Don't Say It's Love"?

Just got it in the mail. Ripped it straight onto my computer. I was shocked at how loud it is. The 2008 version was much better.

I got mine in the mail last week too but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Now I'm scared to.

Agreed! Wonderful album & package, but sadly ruined by unnecessary dynamic range compression across all CDs. CD1 has gone from DR13 (1988 issue) to DR6 (2018 issue), losing half of its average dynamics.

This compressed music may sound OK on small speakers/earbuds, but on a good hi-fi will sound flat & unpleasant, especially at higher volumes.

Kylie Minogue’s mastering engineer may do a fine job with a 2018 new release (which apparently demands “compressed” sound), but to apply the same mastering logic to a 1988 reissue is beyond belief. Many mastering engineers have move on from the loudness wars, but not this one.

It’s also a shame that this is the only release of some of these tracks on CD, meaning the only available digital copies have lost much of their dynamic range.

I’ve detailed the downward spiral from the 1988 CD to the 2018 issue here: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/j ... 018.784287
