This is being released in Nov. on both vinyl and cd and various bundles. Here's the 2CD version track list..

CD 1:

1. All Stood Still (Extended Version)
2. I Never Wanted To Begin (Extended Version)
3. Reap The Wild Wind (Extended Version)
4. We Came To Dance (Extended Version)
5. One Small Day (Special Re-Mix)
6. One Small Day (Special Re-Mix Extra)
7. White China (Special Re-Mix)
8. Dancing With Tears In My Eyes (Special Re-Mix)
9. Dancing With Tears In My Eyes (US Extended Re-Mix)
10. One Small Day (US Club Version)

CD 2:

11. Lament (Extended Version)
12. Heart of The Country (Special Re-Mix)
13. Love's Great Adventure (Extended Version)
14. One Small Day (Final Mix)
15. Serenade (Special Re-Mix)

17. All Fall Down (Extended Version)
18. Brilliant (Blank & Jones Extended Remix)

20. Brilliant (Blank & Jones US Club Mix)

I think most of these appeared on the previous remasters except for the Blank & Jones remixes.

nice,

will probably get it.

it's missing all the instrumentals though,
but if they are concentrating on just the 12 inch mixes thats fine.

however, many of these were cd, and digital only, and were never
on a 12 inch. maybe the extended collection would have been a
better title.

So far this is available only through Ultravox’s official web store although I’m sure Amazon etc will have it up too.

I wonder if the US mixes will be vinyl rips.

Hopefully not, since they appeared on the 'so8os' releases from master tapes.

as bellenger said, nope:
All audio has been newly remastered and the vinyl has been cut “from the original analog production masters” by Alchemy Mastering (the Blank & Jones mixes are from digital).

see SDE

piet also left a comment about it.

What about the Razormaid mixes? (I must be the only one who cares about those here.)

what about them, they are terrible cut and paste mixes most of the time.
the only good ones i ever heard, where erasure - blue savannah, new order - subculture (version without the female vocals),
and the red flag mixes since they supported the band.

Cannot agree. I've heard dozens of such mixes and Razormaid ones are usually the best of the bunch, very tastefully done with great respect for music. Sure there are some duds, but some gems too, very imaginatively done at times (like "Images of Heaven" by Peter Godwin).

As for Ultravox Razormaid mixes, "We Came to Dance" and "White China" are examples of those two trends - the former is "cut-and-paste", and very evident at that, but that's simply because Razormaid guys didn't have access to master tapes. Their mix could've been very dynamic and not as clumsy in its editing, if they had. While the latter is great, almost better than the original mix.

When it came to remix services for me it was Razormaid and everyone else. I found that Razormaid really put some elbow grease into their final product. Other services never quite had the level of creativity that they brought to the table. Some of these other services could be very cut and splice [cut and paste really didn't exist back then] in comparison. Once Razormaid got their reputation they really went places with access to studio masters! The US 12" Kevorkian/Thompson mixes were on the Blank + Jones Ultravox comp? It didn't look like that was the case. I ignored that disc.

If you look at it chronologically (which I think the intention was), it seems weird to me now that Serenade is placed on the 2nd disc, while it belongs on the first (track 4). After all, it is the Quartet-period. Anyway, glad to have the full extended version of WCTD on CD and finally to have the HOTC Special Re-Mix on CD for the first time.

The capper for me is the US Extended Re-Mix of DWTIME on CD.

Soundwise I think it is okay. 8)
