Unfortunately, it is too late to include these two tracks on CD 1 as this album has gone off for manufacturing.

We omitted Jungle 12" mix as that was included on the Re-Fuse 6CD box set released in 2010 and Warners were unable to locate the master for The Politics Of Dancing US 12" Mix.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for the update about the missing tracks. A handful of the tracks on this reissue were included on the "Re-fuse" box set from 2010, so shouldn't those be omitted as well? Is that really the logic for not including the 12" of "Jungle"? As for Warners not being able to locate the master for the U.S. 12" of "The Politics of Dancing", perhaps it's with Universal? Oh well. If the sound quality is good, I'll still be getting it for the rarities.

I was asking myself the same question earlier.

Plus: They could pluck both 12 inch mixes from the Re-Fuse box and include them on this upcoming release. Perfectly fine. Again, a lame excuse if you ask me. Not the first time and this will certainly not be the last.

I'll buy anyway because I missed out on a copy of the Re-Fuse boxset earlier. If I had a copy of that one, I'd never bother with Cherry Pop. After 25 years I will not wait any longer for a Re-Flex CD.

Keep in mind, too, that, even though it's been 18 years, the U.S. 12" mix of "The Politics of Dancing" appeared on "Pulsating Grooves 3", released by EMI-Capitol in 2000. To my ears, it sounds like a master tape source. It just suffers from excessive brick-walling and some distortion, as a result. So, I suppose that it could easily get lost in that time. Didn't Universal Music pick up Capitol's back catalog in the U.S.? I just find it odd that they were able to hunt down the U.S. 7" mix of "Hurt", which has never been made available on CD, but couldn't get the U.S. 12" of "The Politics of Dancing". And, yes, you are right. The original international 12" version of "The Politics of Dancing" is missing as well.

I will still end up getting this reissue at some point even without the obvious omissions. Humanication was my personal favorite. A friend of mine was kind enough to make me a copy from his box set version. I’m hoping that they’ll release it next if POD sells enough.

80s, thanks for pointing this out. Looks like Cherry Red dropped the ball on this one. Of course, lack of a master will probably be blamed for the U.K. 12" missing as well, even though this release is supposedly going to be sourcing from vinyl for a handful of tracks.

Yes i do agree with you Bellenger1981 that Cherry Red have made a mess of this cd.Those mixes should not be missing.

Which was the version of POD that appeared on the so80s compilation?

I don't think that it was on a 'so8os' compilation ... or, am I not seeing it?

It was on so80s 2 from 2010. It just says extended version at 6:31 min. I never got any of those early so80s cds as they were brickwalled to death. I my opinion the UK 12” sounds the best.

Yes, the early CDs are brick-walled to death. They did get re-pressings in 2015 with new mastering. However, they were rather expensive, so I passed. Blank & Jones were apparently going to make the newly mastered files available for download for those who purchased the original discs. That never came to be, to the best of my knowledge.
