I received the CD on Saturday and people should have no reservations in buying this . Although not an expert, to me the sound quality is excellent . I have not played all of both discs yet but sound is crisp and clear and not over loud.

Great to have this finally on CD with all the extra tracks

This is so typical for this forum.
For over 30 years, New Wave fans have been whining about a digital release of 'Hired History'.
Now that it's finally released and no one bothers to comment about it.
Oh well, on to the next unreleased recording.
Unfortunately, I don't have the expertise to comment about the sound quality of the disc.
At this point I'd even be up to reading one of -1's stellar half illiterate reviews.
"lots of synths with nice drum beat i give it a 8 overall"
Over the years on NWO, I thought maybe I'd meet some "cool people" into New Wave,
but mostly I've come across defensive maladjusts with O.C.D.
(Now watch this thread fill up with posts)

I must admit oldwaver2 I was expecting a lot more posts on this subject now it is out , a number of people have fought quite hard to get this released and the end result is excellent quality and a lot more tracks than I ever envisaged. Cherry Red have done a great job on this one in collaboration with the band

It is such a great release, top quality to my ears and I have waited for it.
Not always signed in here to make comments , but highly recommended to all!
The new album is not as great but very good. A welcome return

I completely agree. hired History is great to hear.
But I have my problems with Saved Symmetry. The songs, although from a complete different category, suffer, to my opion, the lack of freshness and uptempo beat of the older material.
As said it's from a complete different category and for sure need some extra listening to be valued on their value.

Listening to it right now.....

Just realized that "This Illness" is a different version from the 7".
Running time is 04:14 - about 14 seconds shorter that the 7" vinyl single version.

The great intro from the 7" seems to be missing and the sound is kind of muffled - unlike Feels Like Winter Again.

"House Of Thorns" (disc 1-11) in comparison to the 7" also seems like an unreleased version. (running time)
Comments ?

Mine arrived yesterday . Listening to it now. Sounds pretty good to me. Secrets is definitely vinyl sourced although not too bad.
