Berlin ‎– Transcendance (2019) is out now.

"Vocalist Terri Nunn rejoins co-founders John Crawford and David Diamond
for what promises to be one of the most talked about releases of the year!"

Berlin ‎– Transcendance

1. I Want You
2. Show Me Tonight
3. Transcendance
4. Lust
5. On My Knees
6. Sex (I’m A…)
7. No One Left Alive
8. All For Love
9. In My Heart
10. Majesty

At first I was disappointed that this release was not "Classic" 80s Berlin,
but when I got past that, I realized that this recording is powerful and personal for everyone involved.
The more I become familiar with the songs, I begin to feel the honesty and the emotion conveyed through Terri Nunn's voice and the lyrics.
Many bands that made it big in the past capitalize on their heyday and never try to move forward, Berlin took the chance.
The irony is that the recording is about moving forward in life and relationships so I feel it would have rung false if it was conveyed in a retro style.
We all want most things to never change and stay the same, but time/life moves on with us or without us.

Ha Ha, that's one hell of an optimistic press release. Next to no one will notice.

It's a shit album that sounds nothing like Berlin. I was horrified and decided not to bother with the live show coming my way in September.

That's a harsh critique.
Remember, It's not 1984 any longer.
Once you come to terms with that,
sit down and relax,
put on a pair of headphones,
start with the title song 'Transcendance'.
Listen to it a couple of times.
Listen to the strength of Terri Nunn's voice.
A million vocalist out there over the years and still Terri has her own style.
The ethereal synths lay a foundation for her melodic vocals.
This recording highlights her strength as a singer.
Now move around to the other tracks
Listen to the beautifully emotional inspired prose and poetry of love, life, and loss.
and you'll begin wake up from that fog of "1984"

Poor OLDwaver2, such a miserable and angry existence. Nothing to do in his empty pathetic life other than look for people to pounce on online. I'm sorry you haven't accomplished a single worthwhile thing in your meaningless existence, but maybe if you had an ounce of personality it might possibly get you out of that black hole you are so deeply sunken in. Sending you thoughts and prayers

I really wish I could be flattered by this not-so-secret little crush you have on me that's causing you to continuously lash out so childishly, even resorting to a sports metaphor. But honestly, the multiple messages you post begging for my attention so you can act out further is just sad. One day I hope you can find the key to your closet door.

All music is subjective. Everyone's favorite album in the whole world is garbage to someone else and vice-versa.

No need to get so bent out of shape about it that you have to resort to personal insults, it just ends up making you look worse than your target. The best way to win an online argument is knowing when not to start.

Let people have their opinions and if you disagree, tell people specifically why. It's a lot more interesting to read than playground name calling. ;)

So in other words you're a bully who tries to stifle people who have differing opinions to yours. But then, that's always been your way. You don't think I have the right? Yes, master, who hides behind multiple ID's and attacks anyone who posts something you disagree with. It only take a simple search of your posts for confirmation. And sad people like you always try to make it sound like you are some sort of majority when the only people who seem to act like you are you under your alternate screen names. How come I picture you as someone sunken into his recliner with an ever-present bag of chips in between your Walmart visits rolling around in your electric cart filling that huge void with snacks while trying to convince yourself everyone else is wrong but you. Sorry little lady, I don't think you're going to convince anyone, yourself included.

I listened to the album but didn't hear anything definitive Berlin, other than Nunn's voice. I couldn't recognize John Crawford's previous musical talent anywhere on the album. It sounded like a bunch of preprogrammed percussion and nothing struck me. I was very optimistic about it initially but as the first two songs were released I got very concerned. They seem to be trying hard not to come off as nostalgic in the least, and in the process alienating a lot of fans. This was discussed in detail at the Hoffman forum where some people did like the album and a number of others also felt it fell very short. You can retain your signature sound without sounding completely nostalgic. You can make a new album and still sound like yourself, as did Devo in 2010 and B-52's in 2008. Berlin did not, IMO.

Eddie is the number one twat on here without a shadow of a doubt. He also holds that title at quite a few other places as well.
