Wonder why no 12" remixes at all. This would've been a perfect opportunity. They have enough remixes to easily pack 2 cds.

Good point, I guess "Best Of" in general means (radio adapted) singles and selected album tracks, but not extended remixes that were generally crafted specifically to pleasing dancers, not listeners. Perhaps in the larger box...? Or, perhaps more likely, they plan deluxe versions of their albums from 1986 on?

Nice collection of all the a-sides (so far!) but nothing really of interest to the hardcore fan.

The box set is a far more tantalising prospect. Am I right in thinking Dazzle Ships and Junk Culture are the only albums that have had previously unreleased material added?

I would think "don't go": would be of interest to hardcore fans. Plus the Archive disc as well.

I meant the 2 disc version has very little to offer the hardcore fan, OBVIOUSLY.

I stopped buying their albums after the remaster of Dazzle Ships. Didn't buy the Deluxe Edition of Junk Culture because of the problems with it.

Think I'll go for the 2-CD set. That way I can replace my old CD copies of The Best Of (1988) and The OMD Singles (1998, which had some less and some more singles). This set looks more satisfying (chronologically) for me as a completist. :)
But still I am hoping for a 12 inch collection in some kind of form.

at the rate they're going, somewhere down the line, there will be a 12 inch set,
or remix collection.

they're probably just getting the material together.

this is good for the singles, but i already have the ones i like on previous
collections.

later

Would much rather have remasters of Crush, The Pacific Age and Sugar Tax instead of yet another best of plus for the box set £80 they can keep it.

Can't wait to listen to Disc 3 - Unreleased Archive Vol I.

Most of these songs are from the golden early 80s. :D

The seller for me on the box set is the BBC DVD as well as the live/Crush DVD (although one of the concerts was already released on DVD). The 2cd that is released separately as well as on this box set is pretty boring for me. You would think that most OMD fans would have had everything on those 2 cd's already. If you don't have any OMD by now, you probably will never be interested in them. :D If they really wanted to do a fan release, I would release all their singles as cd singles in box set (kind of like the DM box sets) with original covers and maybe bonus tracks on each cd single. Accompany that with the 2 DVD that is included in this box set and it would be a dream come true for me.

I actually quite like the look of this, given that this is their first full singles set. However I guess if I was looking at it from a more hardcore fan's perspective really the boxset at least would've been nice as a 12" singles collection, or even added in addition to the standard singles set.

Glad to see full adherence to original single versions, which has made my interest in this set so strong as I don't possess any of the older 7" singles and very few of the CD singles. Really hope the radio edit of Metroland sounds better on here than the digital single.

Love the new single too!
