This is the debut album by Alexander Bard from Army Of Lovers, released originally in Sweden back in 1985. Going under the name of Barbie, this the first official cd release. It's available for purchase on Discogs.com

Interesting. But hmm I wonder how authorized this is. The album along with its singles have been made available digitally during the course of the past couple of years.
It is possible that Alpha records have licensed all the tracks to a Russian/Estonian label, what do I know. Or they used the digitally tracks as source, without asking permission.
The design and the booklet seems nice.

This is an official release according to AOL's facebook page. Yes the label is Maschina Records based out of Russia i believe.

I see that now, thanks. I wonder if they used the digital tracks, or mastered the old tapes again.
In any case, I hope the next step is the re-issue the old AoL albums.

was just wondering the quality of the release.

was tempted to give it a listen but as shipment is from russia it would take a month or so for delivery plus postage cost nearly as much as cd.

I ordered a copy at the end of March and it still hasn't arrived. The tracking information states it's still being prepared to leave the country (ie. Russia) and hasn't been updated since April 8th.

their estimated delivery put me off...

Estimated delivery from Russia over 3-6 weeks. To Europe over 3-4 weeks, to USA over 4-6 weeks. If you can not wait for your order within 4-6 weeks - please do not buy.

oh well i decided to get the album and singles in lossless format from the internet and simply created the cd listing for discs 1+2... i'm guessing thats what they did for the actual cds being sold.

the only thing i'm missing is the artwork... if anyone can scan the artwork and discs in HQ and send them to me in a message i would greatly appreciate it.

I'm now in a Paypal dispute with the label releasing this, as it's still "Preparing to leave Russia" on the tracking information, over 8 weeks on...

I bought the official digital tracks while they were available. I regretted that once I saw there was a CD. But now I don't regret it anymore...

A very interesting project from Bard. I was unaware of his drag queen past. Anyway I bought the album and 4 singles from itunes.
A Russian CD is out of reach for me

I pre-ordered the release back in April of 2020. I had the same experience others had -- it was taking months to ship out. I initiated a Paypal dispute and Paypal refunded my money. Then the CD arrived about four weeks later and Maschina sent me another invoice to re-pay the amount that was refunded since I received the release (which I did). So long story short; yes, I did receive the physical 2-CD release... eventually.

if anyone could share the artwork to this release in HQ would really appreciate it as i already have a large collection of AOL, BWO etc items... have all digital releases of Barbie in Flac as well so the artwork to this would be a great addition.

fingers crossed someone can help.
