Another awful set of DM "remixes"

Another awful set of DM "remixes"

Postby Fred Taghon » Fri Jul 07, 2023 7:31 pm

So apparently a new 8trk digital single for Depeche Mode's mediocre album track "Wagging Tongue" was unceremoniously released today. The original track is decent, though far from what I would choose as a stand alone single. And none of the 8 remixes elevate it in any shape or form. They just go from bad to worse. After rabidly collecting DM singles and remixes for 40yrs, this is now the 2nd consecutive single I won't bother to add to my physical or digital collection. DM remixes have long been declining in quality, with occasional exceptions, but these last 2 singles are simply on an entirely new level of BAD.

Sadly I concur. Seems to be zero quality control with these remixes. I love the album version though.

I also like the album but the remixes are dire, as were the remixes for "Ghosts Again", whilst the new album is better than a lot of the previous albums, for me they lost the plot from "Sounds Of The Universe" album.
