Leisure Process - Complete Epic Recordings 2CD (November)

Leisure Process - Complete Epic Recordings 2CD (November)

At last! Not only all the 7" and 12" mixes but the unheard demos of their never released album.

So excited for this - could be the release of the year.

This is just the best music news of 2025. I honestly thought this would never happen... and how wrong I was!

So it's just a similar style compilation of everything This Isnad Earth recorded that is left on my wish list... before I depart this mortal coil :-)

Yes! Never thought they'd be remembered at all, had to do with bootlegs and vinyl rips (as good as they are), but now!.. Eagerly await the demos - if the released songs are this good it's little chance they'd slack off on others. Hopefully their Peel session will be included as well. Agree with BMR, can very well be a reissue of the year :D

Their story is heartbreaking, though, as painted in the YouTube comment section:

1.
He had a habit for disappearing and killed off any chance of Leisure Process making it. Case in point being the appearance of Razmatazz that the record label had lined up for them but had to be cancelled since Ross had disappeared. This soured the label to them and the end wasn't long in coming.

2.
I can give you some background on that. We were fellow mental patients in a clinic in Bristol 1985/6. He'd had a series of breakdowns even back when Leisure Process were up and coming. Later on when we got to know each other he confided that he wished he'd asked for help but didn't have any real friends he could turn to. He was a very likeable guy and very kind with the other patients, but he had zero interest in talking about his band days. But here's the thing, I bumped into him years later in Brighton - 1996? - and not only did he seem healthy and happy but he was making music again. He had a solo sort of dubsteppy techno thing called Dugout, really good. He came round to mine with a test pressing of a song called Kamakura, v Japanese drum n bass, with a really nice trance piece called Temple Bells on the other side. We'd meet up for a pint from time to time. He was in advertising or something to earn a living, but he was really back into music. Then I moved to London and next thing he'd moved to Paris. I think there was some talk about recording with Gary Barnacle again, don't know if that happened. Personally I think Leisure Process could have been massive, shame about his personal problems.
