COCTEAU TWINS – Lullabies To Violaine (RELEASE DATE NOV 21 2005)
singles and extended plays 1982 – 1996

For the first time all the non-album tracks from across the Cocteau Twins’
entire career have been compiled together and offer a unique view of their
musical journey from the perspective of all their single / EP releases
which incorporate most of their best known tracks.

CTBOX 2
This is an unusual de-luxe package containing all 4 CD’s that will be
available 21 November (Europe) and 22 November (USA) in a worldwide
limited edition of 10,000. The discs are contained in a fold-out package
made of a material that itself sounds like a Cocteau Twins title –
‘Curious Soft Touch Milk’. It’s all very tactile, minimal and V23.

DAD 2513CD and DAD 2514CD
These are the regular versions of the set which will be available early
2006. Each package is a digipak with 2 CD’s. Volume One covers the 4AD era
(1982 – 1990) and Volume Two the Mercury / Capitol years (1993 – 1996).

The 4AD material was previously available in a 10 x CD box set which had a
CD for each single, though this set features alternative mixes of
‘Pearly-Dewdrops’ Drops’ and ‘Aikea-Guinea’. Volume Two has never been
anthologised and has tracks that were limited as singles as well as the
Christmas tracks ‘Frosty The Snowman’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’.

I should have posted this several weeks ago, but 'Lullabies to Violaine: Singles and Extended Plays' is available for pre-order on Amazon ($42.99 CDN at the Canadian site + free shipping)...
Although I usually like to get get my stuff from The Ideal Copy, I've pre-ordered from Amazon.ca this time because I don't want to miss out on the limited edition.

Pretty nice box set compilation! The old CD boxset was pretty nice visually, etc., but it will be nice to have all of these on a couple of discs, so you don't have to constantly pop them in and out of the CD player. Nitpicking here, but I wish they could have scooped up some of the NME tracks and the alt version of Circling Girl from the Volume series and slapped them on there. The alt versions of tracks like Aikea and Pearly is absolutely going to make this a must buy for me!

I preordered this from Cduniverse...but now they have a USA release date of 2/21/06!

All other sites still show 11/21/05 as the UK release date.

Has anyone heard of a delay for the USA release?

Got it on Wednesday from Amazon.ca, but I'm forcing myself to save it for xmas so I had my wife hide it away... I hope she doesn't forget where. On second thought, she may just do that on purpose as she affectionately calls CT "Whale Music"!
Ha! What does she know? She thinks Axl Rose is a good singer!!

Wow what a beautiful package. The "Curious soft touch milk" feels a bit like suede. Would be nice to have a shirt made out of this.

Yeah, this is definitely worth the packaging alone. Gorgeous stuff.... makes you wonder if they are going to release all of the Capitol stuff on 4AD again too. I picked one up for the wife for Christmas... she is gonna love this one! It is about time... nice to have it all in one place.

xmas is over and I've finally treated myself to L2V...
"wow" hardly seems to sum it up, but - wow.
The remastering is truly amazing, the packaging is beautiful. I'm hearing things I've never noticed previously... you know, I seriously doubt I'll be digging out the Box Set anymore after this.

And that says a lot doesn't it?
