Grabbed the Nao Wave cd comp over the weekned. I really like it alot. Shows just how pervasive the sound and asthetic of New Wave was.

hi,

thanks for the recommendation, after reading more about the cd i decided to go ahead and order it. I remember playing a gilberto gil track from the 80's called something like "mesoa nefasta", it was about 170 beats per minute and sounded similar to berlin's "the metro" and the b-52's "give me back my man". i guess everyone gave the new wave musice scene a chance, even someone like gilberto gil who has over 20 cds and is not usually associated with new wave music.
