According to Steven Severin , the next batch of Banshee remasters, Join Hands, Kaleidoscope and Juju will be released in March/April. The next batch of Cure remasters, The Glove's Blue Sunshine, The Top, The Head on the Door and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me will also be released around then. No details yet!!

The Cure really blew it for me when they decided to release the "Join the Dots" boxset and putting these demos that I have no interest in on the remasters. Not only that but they are overpriced. Nobody should have to pay that much for demos/outtakes.

I dunno. I find demos and out takes valuable in that you get to see how the song evolves. To me, the creative process is very important and any chance to get a behind the scenes glimpse into a group as great as the Cure, I'm on it. But was'nt that the idea behind Join the Dots? B-sides and other rarities for the collector who pretty much has all the meat and potatoes of the band?

I kinda like the demos... for the longest time their album "Curiosity" was one of my favorites. This collection was the batch of demos and live songs that were on the flip side of the "The Cure - Concert" cassette. Now they are showing up on the CD's as extra tracks and I couldn't be happier. Something about the raw nature of the songs and the lack of production really makes it seem a little more genuine to me. Some of the songs that turned up as demos on the second disc haven't been recorded properly in a studio... so it is the first time I've heard some of them...
The birth of the expanded release has been the most interesting thing to happen in the music biz in years... The recent expanded releases of The Cure, The Stooges, Echo, X, Gene Loves Jezebel, Siouxsie, Clash, Elvis Costello, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, New Model Army, Killing Joke, right on down the line to the recent Yello albums just shows you how the best songs don't always end up on the albums or how the songs evolved into what ended up on the album...
Then again if Robert Smith wanted to put out an album of mantras and chants... I would most likely buy it! So I guess I will like pretty much anything the Cure puts out in any format. Bring 'em on!

I do agree with you, I have all the albums of The Cure plus lots of singles so the last stuff left to collect are the Demos. I will get Join the Dots sooner than later eheheh[:D]

I really hope that when Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is remastered, that the song Hey You!!! is put back in its rightful place. It's always bugged me that the CD omits it, especially since CDs have been able to hold more than 74 minutes of music for quite a long time now.

Yeah, even Warner re-released Prince's 1999 the way it was suppose to be without giving the full remastering treatment ages ago. Too bad they didn't do it with New Order's Substance with the full 12" versions. Damn CDs, I tell you! It would have all fit on double vinyl [:D].

I have always mixed feelings when it comes to those remastered albums. On one hand, I'm happy to see the music of one of my favorite bands available to the public, but on the other hand, it's a bit frustrating for collectors like me, who have exerted great efforts to obtain the CD's.
