Hey Gazebo:

How are you? Hopefully this run doesn't have the glitch in track 10. (both of my copies have it.)

Thanks Paul. I was never really a fan of Nash.

My copy has the same problem too. I thought it was just my copy because I got one of the last ones. What an amazing album!

Paul, nice to see you back.

One thing to note guys, Cafepress sells cd-r's and does not put that up on their product postings. Although they do a great job with the artwork and they silk screen the cd, I, myself do not like paying a lot of money for any cd-r's. I had a big discussion with them about it already. They did refund my money but it was rather annoying.

Paul, do you know if this one is an actual pressed silver cd or it a cd-r?

Hi again Sean,

It might be the same as the first issues that were sold at the Spirit of Radio site.
Will let you know for sure when the cd arrives.

The Scary Thieves cd arrived this week and everything appears to be the same, only difference is that the cd has been pressed by cafepress.
Track 10 still has the glitch.

I have a theory that the original source material for the CD wasn't a copy of the vinyl (I thought I read on the CFNY site that Scott had received a copy of the vinyl) but rather a 2nd generation tape: the glitch sounds identical to a tape that has been chewed up by the tape transport mechanism. Also, there is a lot of hiss for a master tape.

Too bad as that track (#10) is one of the better ones on the lp. Thanks for the update Paul.

I had a guy in the UK about a year ago contact me who was amazed that Scary Thieves had made it on any official CD releases. At the time he was very interested in releasing a disc of their material. He has been in touch with Chris from the band and hopes to be updating me in the next few months or so on whether this has any possibility of happening. He indicated that he thought Chris was in possession of the masters. The release through Scott I believe is from a cassette.

Paul,

So was the cd a factory pressed silver cd or was it a cd-r with silk screen printing on the label side? I'm just very weary if I buy at Cafe Press now due to my prior incident with them.

Even with the glitch, it's an incredible album to have. I wish they would have included some extended mixes as well. I finally was able to get a 12" of "Dying In Vain", the long mixes are awesome.

Anyhow, the Scary Thieves cd is one of those albums I can listen to from begining to end.

So does the vinyl copy of the album exist somewhere? Or were there only a couple of 12" singles released?

Martin:

As far as I know, there were 3 12"ers released (as well as the 7" versions of those releases)

- Tell Me Girl
- The Waiting Game
- Dying in Vain

I've never been able to locate a vinyl copy of the lp.
