Oh yeah, I guess Cure is under discussion. Anyone else out there who would like to see it on CD?

My "Cure for the Blues" vinyl hadn't seen the light of day for at least 15 years until the recent APB thread popped up! Hardly a crackle or pop, unlike my copy of "Something to Believe In" which got plenty of play on the turntable.

I'm looking forward to the re-release and the radio i sessions.

I'll echo the call for a CD release of "Cure for the Blues".

The "age restriction" pretty much kept me from attempting to go the APB shows on Long Island. I didn't try too hard because of it. I pretty much looked like I was 12 until the age of 21, really.

When I first started this thread looking for the CD info, I thought I would get maybe four responses, and the thread would fade into oblivion. Instead, there's been lots of wonderful discussion about APB, and one of them is even here with us! I guess this does show dodapb that there is still a big interest in the band!
Incidentally, dodapb, I saw you guys as well, at the Ritz in New York City when Fishbone opened for you on May 3, 1986 (I still have my ticket stub). I thought you guys were great, and surprised how APB shined and put on such a good show after having watched Fishbone's antics before you.
dodapb, are you familiar with a song called "Party Games" by Hey! Elastica? The first time I heard it, I said to myself "they ripped off an APB guitar riff!" Just my opinion, but I thought I'd share it. [:)]

I do believe we once played a gig with hey elastica in Scotland. I think they were a Scottish band if I remember correctly. It was early on in apb's life. Similar influences perhaps. I doubt if they were influenced by us and we were certainly not influenced by them.

Yeah you are right about the Fishbone show. They were pretty wild on stage. A weird mix of influences there. I think we did two nights and I remember the first night that I felt that our audience were subdued but the second night was fantastic. Great to hear your view of it and that we did a decent job on at least one of the nights. It was difficult to tell how we were sometimes from on stage.
Although having said that the audience at the Ritz was from my point of view, usually more awesome than the band on the stage!

It would be cool to hear where all of you are and what apb shows people may have attended in the past.
I would be thrilled if anyone on this thread would spare the time to join our myspace.com/apbtheband site as a friend of apb.
Skinnytie, a special thanks for getting this thread going. It's neat.

oh, dodapb, I almost forgot: you can add me to the list of those who'd like to see "Cure for the Blues" released to CD. I'm unfamiliar with it, but I would certainly pick it up if it were available.

Man Dodapb, that is so cool you found us here at NWO!
Great website you set up BTW.
FYI, there are some former WLIR/DRE staffers lurking on this board (you know who you are) and it would be great if they would come forth share their APB experiences, memorabilia and pix (I'm sure they must have some squirreled away somewhere).
Do you have any recollections of the midwinter concert performance at Heartbeat of Oyster Bay LI back in early 1987? I was there and loved you guys.
Please keep us aprised of any possible local LI/NY gigs you folks might consider doing in the future.
I would certainly be down for that![:D][8D]

Thanks for the words 2Nu. I will certainly keep the message board informed of any apb news we may have. Currently Iain is working on the new material we recorded late last year. I have not heard much of it myself yet so I cannot say much about it but if it turns out well we may release it in the future. Great to find such an enthusiastic bunch of people here.
You never know after 15 years we might make it back to your neck of the woods. I do remember Heartbeat well. We played there several times. It was always jam packed full of great people when we were there. I heard it had been levelled by bulldozers or something. Brings back memories..........not the bulldozers. Great that you remember us after so long. Be great to see some of you folks as friends on http://www.myspace.com/apbtheband Especially if you have been to a show. I have placed a blog on myspace to hear from anyone who saw us. One guy in Scotland has a blog about a Clash gig we opened. Be good to hear from you. Also if you send mail to us via myspace Iain quite often reads it and replies.
I have also discovered via a Scottish fan that there is an apb message board on http://www.blackcatbone.34sp.com/phpBB2/index.php.

That's what is great about this medium Dod. So many people can share their affinity and appreciation for APB's music all these years afterward. Thanks again for the music and for keeping us 'In Touch' [:D][;)]
