Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Well, considering I run the label that released it, I guess I'd have to say it's really really good.

Now then, your thoughts?

Your opinion *might* be biased. [;)]

Maybe, but if I didn't think the material was good we never would have released so it was new to me at one point and I thought it was really cool, clearly Devo-esque but much more modern and current sounding + with a very funny, subversive and offbeat theme. Give it a few listens, and there's lots more to come.

It's good to hear his vocals again. I guess it's hard not wanting to hear the companion keyboards you've come to know and associate with him. Sounds like the same quirky vocals and lyrical content though. Has more of the future retro 70's feel especialy with that slinky guitar sound. More reminiscent of his work with hugh cornwell. Still very good. could use that fun synthpop sound though.

Jason,

I promise to keep an open mind.

Thanks for giving our heroes a place to express themselves.

Just for the record, "the evildoers" real names are:

Bob Casale
Josh Freese
and
Mark Mothersbaugh

and a few other names...

Do yourself a favor and visit iTunes and invest a $1.99 on all 3 songs. Methinks you might like "The Owl" a weeee bit.
