Picture Discs

Postby EchoBeachBunnyBoy » Fri Jul 16, 2004 1:27 am

Does anyone have picture discs or special colored vinyl in their collections?
I used to have a few before I stupidly sold my record collection in the late 80's.[:(]
Things I had:

U2-"War" picture disc
Billy Idol- three 7" interview picture discs
Echo & The Bunnymen- three 7" interview picture discs
Cyndi Lauper- "She's So Unusual" picture disc
Billy Idol- "White Wedding" 12'' white vinyl
Men Without Hats- "Safety Dance" picture disc
The Smiths- "How Soon Is Now?" 12" purple vinyl

*cries*

Oh, I have plenty of colored vinyl, too numerous to list. I must say that my biggest find was this: I was in a gift shop in Red Bank, NJ several years ago and the owner, an old lady, was selling stuff that her son did not want any longer. Well, I stumb

I also have a ton of picture discs and colored vinyl, in all genres, not only New Wave. My copy of "Moving Targets" by Penetration and my 12" single of "Neon Lights" by Kraftwerk are both on "glow-in-the-dark" vinyl!

I was never much for picture discs, but on occassion I was tempted to get them, usually if I thought I was getting it for a decent price. The two that I still have are the 45 of "The Telephone Always Rings" by Fun Boy Three, and the "Combat Rock" album b

Strangely enough, Geffen has just released a 7" picture disc (in the UK only, of course) for "The End Of The World", the first single from the new Cure album - I am shocked that in this day and age a major label would release a picture disc 7" - but - I a

Speaking of colored vinyl , I used to own the Cars single release "Just What I Needed" and it was on red vinyl , this was when the song was first released. People look at me with two heads when I mention it. Anyone know if this is worth something? Please

Sorry, Randy. It is worth something. My brother told me that the original 45 colored vinyl by The Cars is very rare and fetches decent bucks these days ($50-100).

Although it's a new vinyl (just released this year), I have a Freezepop (modern synthpop) single that's pressed on clear vinyl.
