Getting a turntable for my computer

Postby DonGately » Wed May 24, 2006 7:58 am

Hi,

I'm thinking about picking a turntable to hook up directly to my PC. I'm looking at the following. Is anyone using a setup like this?

Audio Technica AT-LP2D LP to Digital Recording System
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FB ... e&n=172282)

Product Features and Technical Details
Product Features
AT-PL50 Belt Drive Auto Turntable - Fully automatic operation / 2 speeds - 33-1/3 and 45 RPM / Professional aluminum platter / Switchable pre-amp / Integral Dual Magnet stereo cartridge with replaceable ATN3600L stylus / Balanced tone arm with soft damping control / Easily-accessible front controls

Adapter cable fits most popular computer audio inputs

Thanks in advance for any advice.

So, I ordered the Audio Technica. It arrived yesterday. Easy to hook up. The turntable has a preamp so I can listen to records through my computer's speaker system.

It was bundled with Cakewalk Pyro 2004. This version was adequate enough, but I decided to purchase to the latest version of Pyro.

I was able to easily rip vinyl and clean up the sound. So, I'm pretty satsfied with it. Cost at Amazon is around $100. Other places seem to charge around $150.
