Your 1st 45single Vinyl You Bought!

Postby DSR » Mon Aug 28, 2006 12:37 pm

I started to like the NEW WAVE GENRE wayback 1983 but it was 1985 when I bought my first 45single Vinyls. They were:

IN BETWEEN DAYS- THE CURE[;)] B-SIDE: EXPLODING BOY
THINKING OF YOU- THE COLOURFIELD[;)] B-SIDE: MY WILD FLAME

I bought these two 45singles on the same day, that was wayback 1985 during the heydays of XB and BM.[:D]
How about you guys?

The first 45 I bought was "Saturday Night" by the Bay City Rollers.

I'm old.

"Fly Robin Fly" by Silver Convention. I am not ashamed to admit to liking disco.

Mine was probably "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer or "You Take My Breath Away" by Rex Smith or "Just When I Needed You Most" by Randy Van Warmer (sp?).

No sense in feeling shame about "Fly Robin Fly". It was the second 45 single I bought. My first:

"Dr. Love" - KISS

1976 rocked on!!!!![:D]

[;)][;)] HMMMMP! Very interesting line up. My dad used to purchased the VINYL RECORDS and 45s during the 70s and early 80s.[;)] He loves ROCK and ROLL music.[8D] I remember him buying me a VOLTES V 45single in 1978 during the heydays of JAPANESE ROBOT CARTOONS invasion here in MANILA.[;)] That's just before 1983, because after that I started my own VINYL RECORD and 45s collection which is of the NEW WAVE GENRE.[;)]

The Rex Smith "Sooner or Later" LP was the first thing I ever won off the radio. I also got a couple of tickets to a "private screening" of made-for-TV movie by the same name. Bleh. "Just When I Need You Most" is one of my guilty pleasures.

I think the first single I bought was David Naughton's "Makin' It".

Human League - Love Action
( I was awestruck by the B-side remix of Hard Times + Love Action dub) .... They played it in a store VIBRATIONS....after that I was hooked on 12" versions.....

Recently, I've bought a 45s single of THE RIVER DETECTIVES "CHAINS" from a collector. It's my first 45s single since 1989.[;)] I usually buy the VINYL ALBUMS and I really missed buying 45s. Although I have already THE RIVER DETECTIVES CD, it's stiil nice to listen to a Vinyl Single. The B-SIDE "TRAIN SONG" is not included on the CD so it's a great copy.[:)]
