I've been on a rampage lately with buying new stuff...Let's see, I've picked up the following:

BOLLAND - SILENT PARTNERS LP (2nd LP by the guys who brought you 1981's The Domino Theory, a great LP in it's own right). This LP is highly recommended if you like nice synth pop.

DARKROOM - A TEST OF TIME LP (Great Canadian Synth POP band)

VELVETEEN - AFTER HOURS EP (Really amazing female lead synth pop, very catchy)

PURE JOY - S/T EP (Solid new wave with some synths...one very outstanding song on this 4 song ep)

GABI DELGADO - MISTRESS EP (very funky cool new wave, highly recommended)

PROTOTYPE - S/T LP (Great Canadian rock/pop with a little synth thrown in for good measure)

THIS FEAR - DARKNESS SHAPES IMAGINATION EP (Very cool gothy new wave, but has been polished, not too dark at all) Highly recommended if you can find it...

THE CUCKOOS - STICK AND STONES EP (This is excellent new wave from the Survival Label, need I say more??)

THE BIG SOUND AUTHORITY - AN INWARD REVOLUTION LP (Nice indie pop...a couple of standout tracks on this)

NEW MAN - S/T LP - (Very cool rock pop with some new wave in the middle)

I can go on, but will be up late, it's 1am...Nice thread, I like to share what I've hunted down and recommend....

Today I picked up:

"To Hell with the Boys" - the Boys (great)
first Fishbone ep (only thing I've ever had by them)
Teenage Head self-titled debut (better than I thought it would be)
"Animal Now" - Ruts DC (nice, with unexpected use of synth)
"Living on Video" 12" single - Trans X (have always wanted to get this and found it in the dollar bin).

I love this thread....you've mentioned groups I've never heard of (Fun with Animals?? Pure Joy??) that I would now give attention to if I came across them...

Cheapo in Uptown has 2 copies of the Trees LP, one still sealed. If anyone wants them I'll pick them up and we can trade.

Chicago trip scores:

The Records s/t. I've had "Starry Eyes" in my head all day.

Alice Cooper "Lace & Whiskey" Maybe it should have been called "Whiskey" or "Budweiser"

Shriekback "Oil & Gold". Start the day with "Nemesis" and things can't be all bad.

John Foxx "The Garden" and "The Golden Section"

Both nice, clean copies. I'm a huge fan of "Metamatic" but these had passed me by until I scored on ebay for a pittance. On first spins TGS grabs a bit more tightly but I'm sure TG will come into its own.

The Garden is one of my fave albums. Did your's come with the photo/poetry book insert?

I also really like The Golden Section, but it is far more poppy than Metamatic or The Garden. "Endlessly" is a hands-down immaculate pop song.
