I don't have an Expedit, but I have 6 of what I think is from the "Billy" line (although I can't find the specific one I have on Ikea's website, so it may be something else). If anyone knows what I'm talking about, the things are about 7 feet tall and 4 feet across, come with 6 or 7 shelves, and fit over 1000 12"ers when set up with 5 shelves. Really sturdy solid wood. (Not counting the back piece. That's crap.)

I know a couple of people who use the metal shelving -- you know, the kind you see in a warehouse.

I have many types of ikea shelving. The basic low-cost Gorm in the basement for crappe storage, a couple of Billy bookcases, and an Expedit bookshelf. The Billys and the Expedit are both full of books and magazines and show no signs of sagging at all and I wouldn't hesitate to put records on them if I needed to. I wouldn't put LPs on Gorm, although it should be OK for storing boxes of 7" singles.

Great photo coop. Is that the The Elvis Brothers on the upper left? I saw them open for Big Country in 1983 and haven't heard from them since...must track down that lp! (Assuming no cd issue?)

yes, that's them, they did release a cd that had their first two albums on it. They also had a CD in 1992 called Now Dig This. Graham Elvis sells their stuff on gemm. They are one of my faves.

Excellent. I will track down the cd...and maybe the lp just for fun. They were a blast live, so I am looking forward to hearing them again.
