I finally found it, the catalog # is 6400 604 on the Mercury label, it appears to be exactly the same to the UK version according to Lazlo's discography machine. The version I was thinking about extends about 50 seconds and does feature drops in the line

Thanks for the info.
I had that record at one point (red sleeve).
I don't remember it containing a significant extended vocal version.
As you stated 50 seconds longer but with vocals missing.
Obviously the 7:17 is a dub.
