vinyl freaks like us in the movies....

I saw 'American Splendor' the other night and found myself liking the guy because he was a vinyl collector. In the movie he meets R. Crumb. If you get a chance to see the documentary "Crumb", you find out he's a huge vinyl collector as well (old blues 78's).

Obviously 'High Fidelity' is a movie about a fellow vinyl freak.

"Ghost World" is a good one with Ray Buscheme (sp??) from Fargo, Reservoir Dogs etc etc playing a miserable vinyl collector...I'm instantly drawn to his character.

I liked how at the beginning of 'Almost Famous' the kid gets his hands on his sister's records and changes his life, becoming a rock critic....

Anyone know of any other movies with vinyl collectors in them??

Can't remember if Molly actually worked there, or just visited her older friend (who looked damn good in that movie, went on to Designing Women, just can't remember her name) but the movie was Pretty In Pink. That looked like a pretty neat store to check

I'm pretty sure the store was called Trax, and Annie Potts was the older girl who worked there. I don't know if it was an actual store. What would you give to step back in time to a record store circa mid 80's?? I'd actually prefer say '82.

Yeah, it
