I Found It!

After much looking, I finally found a place in San Diego that does professional quality record cleaning with a VPI-17F. w00t! [:D]

If you enjoy listening to your vintage vinyl and have never properly cleaned them before, or if you have an old favorite that has just grown too noisy over the years or especially if you are getting them ready to be digitized to CD, then a clean record is really essential. You will be shocked by how much difference this makes.
I'm only posting this because I had a devil of a time finding anyplace that did this down here. Maybe this will save the next guy a bunch of time.
The closest I found was a few places that used "disk washer" systems and those are a far cry from a VPI or some of the even more high-end cleaners.
It even makes a huge difference on records that look clean to the naked eye.

The place is:

Stereo Unlimited
3191 Sports Arena Blvd;
(619) 223-8151

VPI-17 Record Cleaner .50 cents each for DIY OR $1 each if they do it.
Polyethylene Sleeves .35 Cents Each

I will report back when I go down there on Wednesday and do a test run of about 50.

I was loaned a Nitty Gritty for a month and man-o-man did that thing make a difference! I was able to resurrect albums that had been unplayable for 10+ years. The VPI is a better machine, and $1 per record is very reasonable. You'd be shocked at how mu

I have cleaned about 50 records over the last few days and this is well worth the money.
It's .50 each if you do it and another .35 cents for the polypropylene and paper sleeves to keep the disintegrating paper fibers from re-embedding into the record gr
