Despite MTV's uncoolness now, sad that someone involved with them when they were a cool tv network has passed.

From FMQB
"Condolences to the family and friends of Los Angeles radio veteran and original MTV VJ, J.J. Jackson, who died of an apparent heart attack while driving home last night"

Sad news indeed. JJ was around when MTV was new and refreshing, and was worth watching. He was funny and very intelligent.

Yeah, that is unfortunate. I feel really old now. While MTV now is meaningless to me, I have fond memories of the early days.

I'm with you guys - - maybe because I was younger and had less headaches, but I really have fond memories of early MTV. So many cool one-hit wonders. Those vj's just seemed more HUMAN and INTERESTED IN THE MUSIC than anyone on there in the last 20 (!!) y
