My guess would be fall-winter 1986 given the playlist and the skiing in Tahoe promo. It's great to hear April Whitney again...

I'll have to look. I'm pretty sure i don't because i didn't roll tape on normal programming and the special shows were taped and handed off. I'll have to see if i have any old Rocktrends cds still. It was the first syndicated show to come out on cd, at the time most came out on tape or lp believe it or not.

Sounds strange they were on tape/LP... Well if you have anything that would be great... I'm looking through my tape collection, don't think I taped a single minute of KROQ, and I listened from 1978 to 1992--all i listened to, except for the ocassional KNAC/MARS/Y107.1 or 91X listening.

Well, now that the elections are over and the U.S. is headed safety towards economic rape and dope addiction, I want to tell Roqqer that I'm embarrassed to say but I didn't stay up on Sundays listening to those guys. Which is probably another reason I didn't listen to Rodney that much - cause on Saturday nights I always hit the clubs. Sunday nights on the other had I had to get ready for school so I probably just watched T.V. Thanks, nevertheless, Roqqer for the link.

While digging though my archives, I found several copies of the long defunct KROQ magazine. Also known as the "KROQ Rag", it was a free publication from KROQ's heyday back in the early 80s.

This one's from July, 1983:

Inside- a Nagle inspired Bud ad:

Richard Blade's column featuring news and gossip from all of your favorites including Adam Ant, Kajagoogoo, The B-52s and Tears For Fears:

Back cover:

I see Bowie, Madness, Boy George- who else can you spot?

Sparks, Depeche Mode, Bow Wow Wow, and The Ramones, everybody else is too fuzzy to really make out...[:p]

Oh yeah I have a few of those hidden in a box in the garage along with all the bumper stickers I didn't put on my car...[:D]

Geez the Poorman sure gained alot of weight even in 1987
Its also sad on what KROQ has become now. I dont think they play anything now that resembles anything post punk or new wave. Indie 103.1 does a much better job of playing old KROQ tunes and bands that actually sound similiar or influenced by the new wave bands
