The Echoing Green:

Postby newwavepopman » Mon May 05, 2003 4:00 am

Has anyone heard any of this band's music at all? I am just curious on what they sound like. Some people who have looked them up for me in music stores have told me that they were listed as a Christian band.Funny with an album title called "Electronica" you would think totally different and how Christian Rock can they be,but look at "Joy Electric" and you will understand why.Although they have religious lyrics,it is the music itself that's what really counts.

My guess "The Echoing Green" are the same basically.New Wave with religious lyrics.Besides The Echoing Green from whatI've read have even covered some old New Wave songs, such as "Figures On A Beach" song "Accidently 4th Street(Gloria) and some others. In fact that is on their very first Cd release, which apparently is no longer in print,as I was trying to buy a copy myself, just because of the cover versions of the songs.

This band can hold its own in the synthpop scene today. They are not overly "in your face" Christian oriented. Beyond thanking God in their credits, that's about it. That sort of thing usually turns me off in music. Don't get me wrong. I'm a spiritua
