The first new wave album I bought was "Parallel Lines" by Blondie at DiscoMat for $3.99 2 weeks after it was released. My second was "Heaven Tonight" by Cheap Trick (I considered them part of the New Wave at the time, now I'm not so sure. I'm surprised

I bought Blondie's "Parallel Lines" back in 1978 when I was 12. It was the first LP I purchased with allowance money. I STILL have it too. It's pretty worn & beat up, but I keep it as a reminder of those long ago New Wave days...[8)]

I received a number of records as a kid (I had my first record player when I was 2) but as for the first new wave record I bought, it was probably by Adam And The Ants - I got "Kings Of The Wild Frontier" and "Prince Charming" at the same time.

However, long before I had any money, I was busy recording New Wave off the radio (mostly Seattle's KYYX, KJET, and sometimes KUBE, and then eventually KHIT, when Stephen Rabow moved over there after KYYX's demise). I still have a LOT of those tapes..
