User names and their Origins

Postby oneno » Thu Jun 12, 2003 5:25 am

i was just glancing at some of the Usernames listed here, and I can figure out the origins on some or there meanings and just love alot of them (Numanoid,eno,quiet..life etc...) Howd' you come up with your username? mine is just a combo of my last name "Henson" with my favorite artists name "Brian Eno" tacked on to the end. Zup with yours?

I'm struck by the insidious, computer-driven tendency to take things out of the domain of muscular activity and put them into the domain of mental activity.

My user name "Agamis" is the name of my Dungeons and Dragons magic-user character from 1982. After all these years he is still alive and I even play him on occassion.

I thought it was fitting since it is self descriptive of me now a days. Plus Japan is still one of my all time faves.

My name Echo Beach has nothing to do with Martha and the Muffins (sort of).

Igrew up in the surf culture of Newport Beach, CA during the late 70s / early 80s (I'm 33 now).

At that time, Echo Beach was a cool line of surf trunks put out by Quiksilv

I post as Sku_u on almost every messageboard I'm a member of. My screenname has several meanings related to binary, sarcasm, music and sci-fi. I'm sure you could figure them out if you really wanted to. <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle

Mine is cut down from 'STILLCOOL80'SBLOKE' I used to use on Napster as I still consider myself 'cool' and my 10 year old and his mates think so too which is good for the old ego you know! I've used it for a while now on a few 80's forums and other places
