As of yet, I know of several rare new wave MP3 sites that have been shut down recenty. Nerocam's site went offline as of around yesterday. I dont know about everyone else here, but I get my weekly dose of rare new wave from lots of sites, hence my playlist is very large and diversified-this also creates the need for a large 40+GB hard drive--but thats beyond the point.
I personally think this is totally stupid of the RIAA to do. The music here is for the most part unavailable. These new wave sites have changed my life. I listen to this stuff all the time. Its all I do now. I loiter at the 'ID This!' sites just to see what sorts of exotic songs come up. This music is awsome, and the artist are not making any revenue from these records--we arent stopping them from making money. I see the RIAA's points in this, but this music is far too rare. Its frightening to know that some of this music can be lost forever. I am a new wave newbie (2 years), but I still try and get as much music as I can. The sites with their songs help me add to a list of artist and songs to look for on vinyl.
MIKE DONT LET THEM STOP YOU!
