Looking for some opinions here. All I know of this guy is "Janes Getting Serious" which I have always liked, but I was never intrigued enough to check anything else out by him. I actually forgot about him till I recently heard it on the radio again after many years. Is any of his other stuff worth checking into?

Yeah, Jon Astley (mainly known as a producer) was a talented musician and a great wordsmith/lyricist. It's unfortunate that he tends to be confused with bubblegum popster Rick Astley, who had his heyday around the same time. Jon Astley's 2 late 80's album

Astley is (or was, not sure), Pete Townshend's brother-in-law. I haven't heard any of his albums but I have been searching for years for one of his songs, "Put this love to the test". If anyone's got this track on mp3 pls let me know!

I'd really appreciate it if you could rip it, I've been after that song since about '89! Let me know, I'd be most grateful. Cheers!

I too have been searching for a copy of "Put this love to the test" by Jon Astley. It is VERY difficult to find! If one of you has actually managed to obtain an MP3 file of it, I would be most grateful.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't John an older sibling to another 80's pop star Rick Astley[?]

On another note: I also recall "Janes Getting Serious" featured in an 80's Heinz Ketchup commercial.[|)]
