Party bands!

Postby MikeP » Thu Nov 06, 2003 7:47 am

So what bands do you think make great music for parties (i.e., mostly upbeat without any slow or "gloomy" songs)? I was listening to Tenpole Tudor today when this thought suddenly crossed my mind.

Here's a few that come to mind:
Adam & the Ants
Wideboy Awake
B-52's
Ramones
The Fleshtones
Tenpole Tudor

No one out-partied B-52s but Oingo Boingo is another staple that comes to mind - big at dorm dances, LOL. Also...

Plimsouls
uptempo Heaven 17
X
New Order
English Beat
Black Flag
Bow Wow Wow

HAVE ANY OF YOU EVEN LISTENED TO THE GO-GO'S? THEY WERE GENIUS, ESPECIALLY ON BEAUTY AND THE BEAT! THAT'S THEIR BEST CD.

The Go-Go's were definitely party material. I honestly haven't heard their new "comeback" material, but Beauty and the Beat and Vacation are up there with the best of them.

ElectricLash!!!

How dare you? BANANARAMA? BUT NOT THE GO-GO'S? BANANARAMA WOULD NOT EXIST WITHOUT THE GO-GO'S. . . THEY TOTALLY FOLLOWED THE GO-GO'S FOR INFLUENCE SO IT OUTRAGES ME THAT YOU CAN LIKE BANANARAMA AND NOT LIKE THE GO-GO'S!

dancingmonkey69, I LOVE the Go-Go's! The Go-Go's are one of my favorite bands, honest! In fact, I don't really care for Bananarama except for a couple of songs. I just thought I'd mention them because they had a few dance-y tunes, and I didn't want to
