So any holiday music from our friends in the world of new wave? The few I could think of....

Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping
U2 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas

Don't think "News Year's Day" by U2 really counts??? Of course these can't compare with another 80's holiday favorite: "12 Days of Christmas by Bob and Doug MacKenzie ("this should just be the 2 days of Christmas... it's too hard for us")

I think Eurythmics 'Walking in a winter wonderland' gets more airplay now then it did when it was first released.

I'm playing 2 hours of punk rock christmas songs tonight. If you're interested you can check out the archive of the show as of 12/23

www.kfai.org and click on program archives, then look for "Radio Riot".

Pulled out my copy of 'A very special Christmas' from '87 with the Keith Haring cover and I'd forgotten how great Sting's 'Gabriel's Message' is - - the tension of the electronic drumming under the vocal is terrific. Don't be too 'hip' to check it out!!!
