Commercial Herresy!!!

The Swiffer commericial with "Whip It" by Devo, The Burger king one with Modern English's "I Melt With You". They literally turned my stomach the first time I saw/heard them. Almost brought a tear to my eyes and a period of righteous indignation followed. Anyway, what other commercial abominations are out there that have dragged your favorite songs into commercial hell? I know there must be others I have missed or forgotten.

Cult Hero - "I Dig You" for Monster.com during the Super Bowl. You know there is some ad guy who thinks he's cool for using this song. Do you think he was a fan?

Although more tastefully applied: The Cure's "Pictures of You" is featured in HP's latest digital photo ad campaign. Also, I recently saw a minivan commercial that had a 'stuck' in the 80's arrested development character and Yaz's "Don't Go" as an audio b

I don't mind the dupe post at all. God forbid if we get a bunch of RTFM Nazis here, because this is the most level-headed and enjoyable forum I know of.

Johnny Cash's family announced this week they would sue to keep "Ring of Fire" from being used in a hemmoroid commercial.

How sad is that?

Has anyone seen the new commercial for the GO mobile phone service? It uses the "Blitzkreig Bop" by the Ramones.

Hey, ho, let's "go"!

Off the top of my head I can only remember Tommy Tutone's '867-5309 Jenny' being used in a spot for Cingular. There are probably countless others...

Actually it does not bother me too much, 80's music being used for corporate profit.

And there's that car commercial with the flat bed boyz dumping Weber kettle grills, bowling balls and a couple of Nissan Sentras onto a deserted urban freeway as evasive road fodder for a couple of dueling Mitsubishi Galants. All this staged mayhem being

I also remeber a Levi's commercial from a few years back that use Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" but not the actual song, it was like hummed or snapped to or something in an operating room.
