Rob Halford had the greatest comming out speech ever. He held a big press conference and pretty much all he said was "Like you didn't know already!"

Billy Mackenzie of The Associates wasn't gay or bi-sexual....
He has some kids running around somewhere if i am correct.
He IS one of the most amazing voices i have ever heard in the 80's, with a vocal range that goes 3 octaves !.
What a waste of a great person and that talent :-((

Since no one's mentioned Tom Robinson, so far, I'd like to take this opportunity to. Some how I overlooked "Atmospherics/Listen to the Radio" on my top 100 80s songs list, and I should have included it in my top 20. [|)]

Billy Mackenzie is bi, it is mentioned in his biography.

Pete Burns is married Lyn in 1980 and last I heard they were coming up to their silver anniversary.

Tom Robinson is bi-sexual and married.

And is still gay now which is what bi-sexual means, both gay and straight. He met his wife in 1982.

Michael Stipe is bisexual, not gay.

As far as I know, Keith Strickland is straight.

This whole thread is stupid. Who cares what their sexual orientation is?

I understand where you're coming from, and sexual orientation shouldn't matter in the big picture when it comes to talent.

On the other hand I think it's important to recognize that not every performer is straight - or pretending to be. For some people these performers were/are role models. For gay people who grew up a few (or quite a few)years ago it was important to know that you weren't always going to be marginalized, and that you didn't have to be quiet, and you could stand-up and be whoever or whatever you were.

Sorry Temple - it's just the social worker in me coming out.
