Heard 'Oscillate Wildly' by the Smiths on the Weather Channel over the weekend. Wasn't just a fluke cos I heard it more than once-- apparently it's in heavy rotation!

I heard The The "This is the Day" in the supermarket today. Followed by some other new wave gems that I never in a million years thought I would hear at ShopRite. And yes I sang the whole time.

Glad to see this thread still going! I came back to it because of my experience shopping last weekend- we were in a Lamps Plus when I realized we were hearing XTC's Chain Of Command over the PA system! It took a bit to recognize, not a song I'd think I'd hear shopping for lamps!! But it made me think of this site.

Heard Boytronic - You, in a gym in Lima, Peru. Remixed version.
Was during this past winter and thought of this thread but forgot to post it.

Was shopping at Sam's Club on Friday. Heard "Let Me Go" by Heaven 17. Then 20 minutes later I hear "Feels Like Heaven" by Fiction Factory along with some other more well known new wave ditties. Maybe I should start shopping there more often.

Was having a root canal done recently and heard " Take it In" off the new Hot Chip cd.

Totally. I've been hearing New Order's World (The Price of Love) at the gym the past few times I've gone. Very surprising to hear it there but one of my all time favorites from them. Excellent [8D]

A blues band at this Irish pub I was at covered Laid Back's " White Horse". It actually worked as a rockin blues tune.

Warm Leatherette at a McDonald's in Cambridge. Nearly nose puked my Coke. Actually, the song selection wasn't half bad...

Weirdest one for me was a musack version of Yazoo's Only You in Genovese Drugs in 1990.

Other ones off the top of my head are Aztec Camera's Dream Sweet Dreams and Material Issue's Valerie Loves Me in The Gap a few months ago and Alison Moyet's latest releases in my bank.

Maybe all NBA teams play it these days, but I was surprised to hear Pigbag's Papa's Got a Brand New Pigbag playing at the Memphis/San Antonio game.

At Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday, mixed in with the typical '80s fare, I heard "Pictures Of You," "Life During Wartime," and "Clean, Clean." That was weird.

Okay, not necessarily NW but close enough: just heard Stereolab song 'Lo Boob Oscillator' used on a VitaminWater commercial. I guess the old, lefty, anti-commercial Stereolab is gone.

I was watching the morning news yesterday (WPIX 11 NY) and they went to commercial with Depeche Mode's "Everything Counts" after a financial report. Somebody cool works there.
