I really enjoyed that Skygeex. You sounded at ease like you had been cohosting with Steve West for several years. He seemed impressed by your choice in music.
I was impressed too as I have over 1500 new wave songs in my itunes library and missed those OMD, Visage and Flock of seagulls tunes.
What was the name of that Visage song?

Well, thanks roqqer! Glad you enjoyed it. I sure did. Hope to get to do it again sometime. Again, I am enjoying the hell out of your KROQ shares. Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em! All four. Transports me back, man!

The Visage cut in my show was "Visage". One of those rare self-titled TRACKS. The lead-off cut (Side A, Cut 1) on their debut LP, "Visage". I happen to think Cut 4 on Side B, "Visa-age" is a better song (one of their best), but thought the 91X listerners would appreciate it less.

Hey roqqer!!! How much cajoling would it take for you to share more of those KROQ tapes? I know you only had a handful of them digitized, but you've evidently got a ton more in the closet. Do you have a way to rip and MP3 more of them? If not, I and my friend would be MORE than happy to take shipment of your KROQ tapes and convert them for you, then send the tapes back, along with the digital fruits of our labor. We must have MORE!!! :)

Hey John (roqqer), thanks for the 1986 KROQ. Every Saturday? Yeah...that'll be something to look forward to!

Just wanted to let you know that the lastest MP3 was encoded at 128kbps. Your previous ones were 192. Just FYI, incase you wanted to match them up. I like 192 and up.

Wow, that recording of Oingo Boingo's "Something Isn't Right" is way crisper than the MP3 I've been listening to for years. Thank you thank you!

I think that what roqqer is providing here is just as cool as any CD reissue you could imagine...

I love these and, though I haven't listened to all of them yet, I'm so glad that you've been doing this.

Thanks so much!

Ah yessss... Freddie Snakeskin! I loved that he played one of my favorite ska songs just about every shift: "Dave & Ansell Collins - Double Barrel!"

Not complaining about the quality, but I actually love that it sounds like you can hear something underneath parts of the tape - like the tape wasn't fully erased or something. Such an 80s phenomenon! [:D]
