URGENT - THOMPSON TWINS HELP!

Postby Jason² » Mon Mar 22, 2004 7:57 am

Superfecta Recordings is hoping to reissue The Thompson Twins album "Quick Step & Side Kick" on CD with some bonus tracks. One of the bonus tracks we're hoping to include is the b-side to the UK 7 Inch Single "We Are Detective" entitled "Lucky Day". We specifically want the 7 Inch version of this - not the 12 Inch "Space Mix" that is on the b-side of the "We Are Detective" 12 Inch Single.

IF YOU HAVE A COPY OF THIS 45 - PLEASE GET IN TOUCH IMMEDIATELY!

jason@superfeta.com

if you have this and wouldn't mind scanning the front/back covers as well as both sides of the actual record - we will give you a copy of the CD once it's finished (assuming we get permission) as well as include your name in the credits of the CD.

Thanks!

Jason

Anyone? Beuller?

Don't have this single unfortunately. Out of curiosity, would it be cleaned up from vinyl or would you have access to any master tapes? I will check with Jim and Spaz (since they don't frequent the board) and see if either of them have

Jason, can you order one from a reputable seller on GEMM?

There are a ton of them for sale there.

The search is over - Gregg/Skinnytie to the rescue!!

Swerve, I am not sure who posts more retail referrals... me to The Ideal Copy or you to GEMM - obviously GEMM was my first stop - but I literally needed it yesterday - and Gregg/Skinnytie to the res

I'm looking forward to this release! <img src="http://home.comcast.net/~fritzb1/woo.gif" border="0">

I do have the original Side Kicks CD release (c.1983), but it has a few mastering issues that have bugged me for 20 years! Several of the songs don't

BMG doesn't have the master of "Lucky Day"??? It's on the Thompson Twins Greatest Hits that they released not too long ago (catalog # 82876-507262). It was on the BMG/ Camden label, and is (ironically) being sold at The Ideal Copy even as we speak. May

jfiber --- I'm sure it's not the first and won't be the last time a label can't or is having difficulty tracking a master down.

When I helped compile Hardest Hits Volumes 1 to 5 and Classic Alternatives Volumes 1 to 3 (not 4, I left SPG in early 1995)

How many Thompson Twins albums were there before Side Kicks? I know of "A Product Of..." but have never seen a track listing. Now I'm curious, because I was a big fan. They sure stay out of the limelight now, don't they? I know Thom and Alannah formed Bab
